Editor:
Well as most of you know by now, I have lost my bid to become one of Washington County’s senators. First, congratulations to the incumbents – Senators Pollina, Cummings and Doyle. Job well done! I worked about as hard as anyone could and as one of the reporters said on election night, I left no stone unturned. But it was not to be.
Second, thanks to all my supporters – those who marched in parades, put signs on their lawns, financially supported me, wrote letters to the editors and endorsements, held “meet the candidate” events, provided in-kind products, helped with videos, wrote and sang songs, sponsored forums, sent mailings on my behalf, and provided notes of encouragement. A special thanks to my husband who was with me every step of the way and to my manager, and treasurer and my marketing person and to those who were available to answer my questions and provide advice and guidance behind the scenes.
I am glad I tried – as I have told so many people – the experience made me fall in love with Vermont and its people all over again! Thank you to everyone. I am very grateful for the experience and for your support. And, most important thanks to all who voted – and a special thanks to those who voted for me.
