Editor,
On May 17, 2015, I was blessed and honored to be one of the recipients of the Seventh Annual Beth Hemenway Memorial Ride and Poker Run, that benefits adults battling cancer.
To say that the event was a success would be an understatement. It was a perfect day, beautiful weather, and a large number of riders (approx. 170) came out to support myself and Kenny Underhill, the other recipient.
It was an amazing show of love, support and prayers from many friends, family, and especially people that I did not know before that day, but now consider friends. The genuine expressions of “Good Luck”, “You can beat this”, and so many other words of encouragement were heard all day long.
This is truly a gathering of selfless, dedicated people who want to help others. Of course, being able to Ride makes it a lot if fun, and seeing all the bikes is just flat out cool. It was a very well run event, and the folks who organized it and volunteered did a fantastic job. To say “Thank you” really doesn’t do justice to just how much myself and my family benefitted from the love and support shown to us. We will be forever grateful to this great group of folks, many of whom gave of their time and donations without even knowing us before the ride. God bless all who were part of this event, and you can count on my family and I being part of the Bikers For Beth family from now on!
With all our hearts,
