Editor:
We would like to thank everyone who patiently waited an hour or more to give blood at the Barre Blood Drive on July 8th. We hope you are enjoying your T-shirt and other goodies. We collected 145 pints and had twelve first-time donors.
The Red Cross is constantly trying to fine-tune the process to make it more donor friendly. You can lessen your wait by making an appointment NOW for the next drive on Monday, September 9th. The drive is from 11:30-5:30 at the Barre Lodge of Elks behind the Aldrich Library. Log on to redcrossblood, org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS to make your appointment. Walk-ins have priority from 11:30-12:30.
We are looking for a strong volunteer who would be willing to store, put out, and collect the three sandwich signs that need to go out the evening before or the morning of the drive at three locations. If you can help in this way, please call me at 479-9002. We would like to thank Gary Williams for volunteering for this job for many years.
Your donation can save up to three lives. Please don’t give up on giving blood. Make your appointment now and save lives.
