Dear Editor,

I am writing to express my support for Susan Hatch Davis for state representative in Orange District 1 (Corinth, Vershire, Orange, Washington, Chelsea and Williamstown). Susan is a neighbor and friend that I have known personally and professionally for many years. I believe that her extensive record of public service speaks to her integrity of character, and makes clear why she is the best candidate to represent our diverse district.

Susan has always listened to her constituents, and has represented their positions in Montpelier. She has encouraged discussion and understanding at every turn and made clear her commitment to economic justice. This has been apparent in the work she has done on behalf of working families, small businesses, teachers, employees, labor and unions in our district. She has been a strong and committed proponent for our public education – and encourages local control. Susan understands first-hand the challenges of economic security, and the expenses born by many with the health care system. Susan understands these challenges as a working mother, and working grand-parent who is always there for her community. Susan works to solve problems, she has always reached out to those with different points of view and listened. She is not about portraying ideas and challenges, but solving problems and building resilience within our communities. Susan’s actions have shown that she believes that economic prosperity begins with healthy families and healthy communities.

Please join me and vote for Susan to bring the finest quality person to our Statehouse.

George Plumb

Washington, Vt.
