Members of the Spaulding High School Drama Club were all smiles after putting on their costumes for this week’s performance of The Wedding Singer because it means the audiences will be filling in the auditorium shortly.
There will be shows at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and a 2 p.m. matinee also on Saturday.
Based on the Adam Sandler movie, The Wedding Singer is a rockin’ romantic comedy that pays tribute to the catchy music, bad hairstyles, and pop trends of the 1980’s. Tickets are $10 for adults; $7 for students and seniors, and $5 for children.
Co-director Shannon Brodie, a junior at SHS, said of the show, “Choosing The Wedding Singer was a huge group effort and it all came down to what fit the group we have now. It’s a fairly large cast. Many, but not all, of the members have their own small featured moments. Putting this show together has been a ton of fun for me. I’m usually up on the stage along with all of my friends so it was definitely a huge change. I loved it and I think I was able to learn a lot from it. I’m very proud of my friends and the work they have also done on this show with me.”
