Editor,
Montpelier Senior Activity Center staff take this opportunity to publicly thank our 2015 volunteers, recent sponsors and donors.
On December 16th, we hosted a luncheon to recognize the service of over 150 volunteers who have served this year. The value of their service, estimated conservatively, is $136,000 – and that’s a lot of hours donated¬—leading classes, trips, and events, helping in the office, attending committee meetings, making crafts, preparing mailings, making MSAC a welcoming place, working at special events, fundraising, helping make meals happen, and much more. MSAC’s operations thrive with their help, and they come from all walks of life and towns.
We also thank Good Taste Catering and sponsors: Hunger Mountain Coop, AARP, and United Healthcare.
On November 30th, we hosted an Open House, sponsored by The Residence at Otter Creek and Shelburne Bay. Over 100 community members enjoyed the entertainment of Burr Morse, JingJi Stengel, Ron Merkin, and the Montpelier Ukulele Players, along with class demonstrations, refreshments, tours, raffles, and conversations with community partners at the lively event. Thank you to all who contributed to this event!
Finally, we are grateful for all our members who donated during our end-of-year appeal, surpassing our goal of $15,000 to keep our programming affordable and diverse. A select group came forward early with a matching challenge, which encouraged many members to give at a higher level this year, and others to give for the first time. Thank you all!
