ROYER, GISELE RITA, 82, formerly of Barre, passed away at Fletcher Allen Health Care on February 14, with her family by her side. Gisele was born in St. Johnsbury on May 22, 1930, to Alfred and Jeanne (Gingras) Laliberte. Gisele married Lee Royer in 1951 and moved to Long Island, N.Y., where she had three sons. After a short period of living in Dallas, the family moved back to Vermont in 1966. Gisele was very proud of her Catholic faith and had been a longtime parishioner of St. Monica Parish in Barre and was also very proud of her French Canadian heritage. Gisele was also a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society. Survivors include her three loving sons, Rick Royer and wife, Karen, of Colchester, Paul Royer and wife, Lynn, of Essex Junction, and Martin Royer, of Burbank, Calif.; her sister, Yoland Messier, of Williamsburg, Va.; and two grandchildren. Gisele was predeceased by her husband, Lee, in 2003.
