Linda Marie Lane

7/18/1951 – 6/22/2024

PLAINFIELD, VT – Our dearest Linda has left for greater places. She succumbed to her Alzheimer’s and Lewy Body disease that she has been fighting for 7 years. Born in Montpelier to the proud parents of Edgar Sr. And Flindy “Edith” Magoon and raised on their farm in Berlin.

She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1970 where she was a National Honor Society member. Linda met Allan, her husband of 54 years, during freshman year and dated all throughout high school. They married in September of 1970. They had two children, son Shawn (predeceased) and a daughter Jennifer of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Jennifer gave her four beautiful grandchildren, Grace a Junior in college, Sam a recent high school graduate and twins Olivia and Elaine sophomores in high school. Linda was the fourth born with Ruth Gagnon of Fort Pierce FL, and brothers Edgar, Jr. and Eugene, both deceased. She had many aunts, uncles and cousins that she adored.

Linda had a challenging work life, she was a Purchasing Agent and then Assistant Plant Manager for Huntington Homes, a medical and dental billing agent for The Heath Center and CVMC, and of course a full-time mom. She was a great seamstress making many of the kid’s clothes when they were young. Later she loved to do quilting and of course Allan would always count on her skills for help with his uniforms. She was a tremendously hard-working mother, working full time, plus making the meals, doing the groceries and keeping the house. She was a focused shopper being able to root out the deals on most everything. Linda would be the female chaperone on many of the school trips Allan used to coordinate for his students. The students affectionately called her Mrs. CSM and she had a wonderful way with the high school cadets. She also helped Allan with uniform fitting of his cadets, some years over 100 and for many years did the alterations for them as well.

She leaves behind her adoring husband, of 54 years, Allan of Plainfield, her daughter Jennifer Lane of Shrewsbury Massachusetts, her four grandchildren, Grace, Samuel, Olivia and Elaine Balzanelli of Shrewsbury. Her sister Ruth Gagnon of Fort Pierce, FL. Her sisters-in-law Vickie Adams and husband Rob of Middlesex, and Linda Lee Lane of Montpelier. Also, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Many close friends Sue Ann of Berlin, Betty and Larry of Northfield, Carmen and Earl of North Port FL, and many more. Leaving her good neighbors Nancy and Jeff, Lexie and Dennis of Plainfield.

Special thanks for Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice for providing comfort care in her home.
