MEIGGS, MARION W., 83, of East Montpelier, died peacefully March 30, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Evelyn Searles, in Cabot. Born Jan. 15, 1931, in Peacham, she was the daughter of William and Gladys (Farnham) Nunn. She attended school in Peacham. Marion worked at Leahy Press in Montpelier for several years and later for Larry Brown and Sons Printing Inc. in Barre, until she retired in the fall of 2009. She resided peacefully at her home in East Montpelier after retirement. Her hobbies were working with arts and crafts, especially woodworking, crocheting, knitting and gardening. She loved her flowers and her plants. She and her late husband loved traveling and camping. Marion is survived by her son, Dennis Searles, and wife, Evelyn, of Cabot; and her daughter, Sherry LeBlanc, and husband, Robert, of Barre; three grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; a stepson, Arthur “Joe” Meiggs Jr., and wife, Carol; two step-granddaughters; three sisters, Blanche Ross, Bernice Adams and Arlene Miller; two brothers, Arnold and Lyle Nunn; a sister-in-law, Margaret “Maggie” Rollins; several nieces, nephews and close friends. Marion was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Meiggs; her grandson Judson LeBlanc; a stepdaughter, Nancy Mullen; sisters Ila Shatney, Irene Brown and Charlotte Hutchinson; and brothers Oliver, Kenneth and Eugene Nunn. A graveside service will be held in the Hope Cemetery in Barre, Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 11am, followed by a gathering of family and friends at the Elks Club in Barre.
