Obituaries » PAUL A FOSTER

PAUL ALAN FOSTER passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023 at his home holding each of his children’s hands. He was a fighter, the hardest worker and the best dad.

Paul spent most of his life working on heavy truck equipment with his family. Starting out welding as a young boy with his father at M and M Equipment in Lebanon, NH and then going on to work for his brothers at Vermont Municipal in Williamstown, Vermont. In 2004 Paul went out on his own building his home-based business, Custom Snow and Truck Equipment of Vermont. In 2008 when he was paralyzed in a snowmobile accident he then switched lanes and gained his CDL from his wheelchair. He said, “I can’t work on trucks anymore, but I can drive em’!” He spent the last 17 years hauling logs, lumber, stone, equipment, and Christmas trees all over New England. He loved to work his hardest and do his best.

Paul was intrigued by everything that could be welded, was made of wood or had wheels. He had a need for speed and a reckless side. He loved to snowmachine, cook giant meals on his wood cook stove, cruise in his truck with the music cranked, buy junk and fix it up and spend time with his friends and family. He was always willing to help someone in need and would go out of his way to make sure that the ones he loved were taken care of. Paul’s unforgettable laugh could literally be heard a mile away. He’d smile from ear to ear even on his worst days.

Paul was welcomed to heaven by his mother Sue and father Doc, his half brother and sister, two of his nephews and his dogs. Paul is survived by his life partner Elaine Nedeau, his children; Amanda and Aaron Foster and Eric Sample, siblings; Buzz and Debbie Foster, Art and Laurie Foster, Susan Foster, Randy and Becky Foster and all their kids.

A Celebration of Life for Paul will be held at his home, 1105 McCarthy Rd., Graniteville, VT 05654 on Friday November 10, 2023 at 5pm. All who knew and loved Paul are welcome to join. Online condolences and memories of Paul may be shared with his family at dgfunerals.com.
