Mihaela Padure
MIHAELA PADURE, 35, of Tavares, Florida passed on unexpectedly Friday, October 13, 2023.
She and her sister were adopted by Deb Mitchell of Tavares, FL and Doug Grout of Calais, VT in June, 1991. In February 1995, she and her sister became American citizens with many of their classmates present at the ceremony. Mihaela, formerly known as Nikki, attended Calais Elementary and graduated from U-32 High School in 2006. She was employed by the VT State Police office in Waterbury and other state offices and had worked in FL for CVS and after some dental training classes, became a dental assistant. She loved finally making the move to sunny Florida with her mum and leaving the cold, windy winters of Vermont behind. For her, the best place to be was near the ocean, on a sandy beach, soaking in the sun. Possibly with a cat beside her. She found all cats adorable, funny, and a great comfort to be around. She loved artwork, writing poetry, cooking, listening to 70’s music, and looking forward to doing special things on the holidays. She is survived by her parents, her sister, Kayla Grout and her son Javen, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life gathering will be held in Vermont next summer.
