LEROY, ELIZABETH MAY “BETTY,” 82, died March 23, in hospice care at Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Oct. 6, 1931, in Barre, the daughter of the late Steven and Ann (Hamel) Mureta. Betty attended Montpelier public schools and worked for many years as a housekeeper, waitress and caregiver. She loved to knit, crochet, play bingo, listen to country music and play cards and participate in activities at the nursing home where she lived. Betty has been in poor health for several years and was a resident of Berlin Health and Rehab Center at the time of her death. She was predeceased by two husbands, Julian Gauthier and Robert LeRoy, numerous aunts, uncles and a niece, Lynda Aldrich. Betty is survived by one brother, Joseph Mureta, and wife, Theresa, of Montpelier; sister Mary Parke, of Chillicothe, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, and a wonderful friend, Mary Gilpin.
