BAKER, RICHARD M. “RICKY,” 29, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Barre, died unexpectedly on July 28. He was a much loved son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. Ricky spent his high school years as a student of Spaulding High School, where he was a member of the JROTC program. After obtaining his GED, he enrolled at the Northland Job Corps in Vergennes, where he obtained his A+ Certification to work on computers. Ricky enjoyed going hunting, fishing and loved to go bowling with friends and family. His favorite thing, though, in the whole world was to read. He was rarely seen without a book in hand or nearby. Those who knew him remember him by his comedic ways, great friendship and his giant heart. Ricky joins his grandfathers and one grandmother in peace. Ricky is survived by his mother, Charlene Baker, of East Randolph; father, Kevin Baker, of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Teresa Baker, of Bangor, Maine, Elizabeth Baker, of Northfield, and Jennifer Bliss, of Richford; one brother, Patrick Taylor, of East Barre; and many other family members. Private services were held in New York. The family will have a day of remembrance in Vermont at a later date.
