HOWARD, HAZEL, 70, died March 2, at Gifford Medical Center. She was born May 25, 1943, in Poultney, the daughter of Henry P. and Mildred (Wheeler) Howard. She was raised in Poultney and East Randolph, and had also lived in South Royalton, Barnard and Massachusetts, but spent most of her life in Randolph. The last six months she had lived at Riverbend in Chelsea. She had been a cook at the Third Branch Club House and a member of the Howard Family Singers. She enjoyed watching “The Andy Griffith Show,” “The Price is Right” and Bill Gaither gospel music on the television. She also enjoyed reading, Christian music and old Westerns. Survivors include four brothers, Morris Howard and David Howard, both of Randolph, Andrew Howard, of Reading, Kan., and Charles Howard, of Huron, S.D.; three sisters, Jessie Sanchez, of Portland, Maine, and Rebecka Wood and Shirley Huggins, both of Randolph. She was predeceased by a brother, John Howard.
