FRENCH, ELIZABETH “BETTY,” 89, died February 19 at Mayo Continuing Care in Northfield. She was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Braintree, the daughter of Allen Eddy and Katharine “Marie” (Foy) Eddy. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1941. She married Harold “Frenchie” French, of Bethel, April 29, 1942. After living in Braintree for 45 years, they moved to Randolph. She worked as a waitress at various local restaurants, and owned and operated her own restaurant, The Buckboard coffee shop, in the early 1970s. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, crocheting, knitting and snowmobiling. Survivors include two sons: Patrick French, of Randolph, and Harold French Jr., of Roxbury; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Giroux. She was predeceased by her husband and two sisters, Edna Hutchinson and Avis Rogers.
