JIPSON, JOHN BURTON, 74 of Kissimmee, Fla., formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. John was born in Presque Isle, Maine to Ervin and Gladys (Leeco) Jipson. He attended Cohasset High School and served in the United States Navy for 20 years, and was a retired Seabee and Chief Petty Officer. Throughout his working life, he worked for the phone company in California, Tandy Corporation, Johnson Controls and Marriott. John enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing with his friends Roland and Rosie. He attended First Baptist Church of Kissimmee and was a member of Fleet Reserve and the Masonic Lodge. John is survived by his loving wife, N. Kelley Barrows-Jipson; brother Roger and his wife Eleanor Jipson of Weymouth, Mass.; sister Nancy Putt of Braintree, Mass.; George and Kathryn Barrows of Winooski, Vt.; Greg and Cathleen Barrows of Westford, Vt.; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and additional family and friends that will miss him dearly.
