SANCIBRIAN, MARGARET LOUISE “TUCKY,” 77, of Longs, S.C., died January 23, at Brightwater. Born July 21, 1936, in Plainfield, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Bertice Peck Sandison. Tucky graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre in 1954. On Oct. 19, 1957, she married Frank Sancibrian Jr., and they recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. She resided in Barre most of her life but spent the last 20 years in Longs, S.C. She was employed several years until retirement for the state of Vermont as a personnel manager. She loved her family and friends dearly, and had a passion for all animals, especially those who needed to be rescued. Her hobbies included golfing, reading, gardening, crossword puzzles, extensive genealogy research of both Sandison and Sancibrian families, and was a valuable volunteer for the Spaulding High School alumni committee. She was an accomplished quilter and knitter, who built a loving and lasting friendship with all her knitting ladies. Tucky also volunteered at the Grand Strand Humane Society, where she was awarded Shelter Volunteer of the Year in 1998. While residing in Longs, she was a two-time ladies club champion at Colonial Charters and also made a hole-in-one at this course. Her most recent hobby was “stamping,” where she made personalized and sentimental handmade cards celebrating her family and friends’ birthdays and holidays. Tucky was an avid sports fan who enjoyed friendly football pick ’ems. Her smiling face, infectious laugh, gift of conversing, selfless nature and her knowledge of the world will forever be Tucky’s legacy. Tucky is survived by her husband of 57 years, Frank Sancibrian; son, Norman Sancibrian (Valerie); and daughter, Laurie Shralow (Bill); brother, Malcolm Sandison; sister, Penny Robie (Bill); four grandchildren; and her four-legged companion, Maggie.
