BRUSETTI, ISIDE, 99, of Barre, died February 1, at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin, with her family at her bedside. Born July 31, 1914, in Barre, she was the daughter of Carlo and Maria (Gioria) Brusetti. She attended Barre elementary schools, graduated from Spaulding High School in 1933 and the Mary Fletcher Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington in 1936 as a registered nurse. Most of her nursing career was spent as a private duty nurse in the Barre-Montpelier area. From May 17, 1943, to Feb. 20, 1946, she served as an Army surgical nurse with the 120th Station Hospital in England and was further assigned to nursing duties in France and Germany, being promoted to first lieutenant. She was recalled to active duty during the Korean War, serving from April of 1951 to September of 1952, and was discharged as a captain in the Army Nurse Corps. Being a lifetime Batchelder Street resident, she built a home for her and her father with her brother, Alfeo, and his family living in the original family home. Her home and her family were her greatest loves. Survivors include her brother, Alfeo Brusetti, and wife, Doris; her niece, Carolyn Brusetti; her nephews, Richard Brusetti and Carl Brusetti, and his wife, Marjorie, all of Barre; one grandniece and two grandnephews.
