JANAWICZ, PAUL, 69, died in Merritt Island, Fla., on May 27, 2013, of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was born May 18, 1944, the second of eight children born to Elvi and Alfred Janawicz, in Richmond, Vt. He attended school in Richmond and in Berlin Corners, and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1962. While serving in the Air Force in Southeast Asia, Paul met and married Maria Fong in Taiwan. After several northern winters in Nashua, N.H., they moved to Florida, which has been their home for over 35 years. He was employed by the telephone company, both in New Hampshire and in Florida. Paul was devoted to his family and especially proud of his son John’s accomplishments as a member of Team USA Bowling. He greatly enjoyed the culture of the 1950s and early ’60s, including television shows he kept on video, model classic cars, and the thousands of 45 rpm records he collected. He loved remembering his youth and retelling stories of his own mischief and misadventures, as well as those of his father, brothers and friends – always accompanied by his mirthful, chortling laughter. Paul was a believer who relied on his Bible for guidance, reading it daily. He looked forward to leaving this world and going home to his Lord and Savior. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Dana and brother David. He is survived by his wife, Maria, of Merritt Island, Fla; his son, John, of Winter Haven, Fla. Also by siblings Agnes Anna Zephyr, of Wilder; Linda Arnold, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Timothy “TJay,” of Berlin; Scott, of Moretown; and Tammi Williams, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
