KITCH, SIMONE ANTOINETTE, 68, of Plainfield, died February 18, at her home. She was born in Brandon on Dec. 20, 1944, the daughter of Emile and Dorothy Racine. She graduated valedictorian of her class from Brandon High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the College of St. Joseph the Provider in Rutland. She was primarily a homemaker but had worked for Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association and the Becket School in Pike, N.H. She volunteered for Red Cross disaster relief efforts in Louisiana, Ohio and Vermont, and for the humane society in Barre. She was known as an artist and enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and crocheting. Survivors include her husband, David Kitch, of Plainfield; two sons, Aaron Johnson, of Thetford, and Daniel Johnson, of Woodruff, Wis.; a daughter, Simone Stewart, of Delaware, Ohio; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Armand Racine, of Killeen, Tex., Maurice “Buzz” Racine, of Brandon, and Terry Racine, of Leicester.
