Joseph James Borkman, 84, died Feb. 9, 2020, at Rutland Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 19, 1935, in Woodstock, the son of Charles and Ella (Goodwin) Borkman. He graduated in 1953 from Woodstock High School. Mr. Borkman began working as a Vermont State Trooper until he was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1957 and served for two years. Survivors include his wife, Jillian, a son, and three siblings. Private burial will be at a later date in Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon, Vt. 05733. Arrangements are by Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
