Jeannette Barbara (Irish) Willett, 87, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed on the morning of August 20th with her family at her side at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT.

She also leaves eleven grandchildren; Jamie Fontaine, Kristin Dodge, Jessica Parrish, Tammi Willett, Lisa Hancock, Jennifer Manning, Christopher Willett, Stefanie Willett, Calvin Grambois, and Benjamin Willett who preceded her in death in 2006. Her sister Pauline Vogel and brother Kenny Irish currently reside in Florida. Her brother Max Irish passed in 2016.

Jeannette was born in Vermont, but later moved to Nevada, where she spent the past 20 years living near her son Gary and daughter-in-law Janet. Jeannette maintained an active lifestyle and was involved in many organizations including, The Red Hat Society and the St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church.  While living in Vermont she was an active member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Montpelier. She loved going out for lunch trips, bowling, visiting the casinos – especially playing Buffalo Slots at the Orleans Hotel Casino – and spending time with her family and friends. She was also an excellent baker, her specialty was wedding cakes, which she made for family and friends, and enjoyed gardening.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Jeannette at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Montpelier on Tuesday, September 3rd at 11am with burial to follow at The Berlin Corners Cemetery. After the burial all are invited to attend a reception and share their memories and stories at the Canadian Club on E. Montpelier Road in Barre, Vermont.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bonnie Dodge and her great-granddaughter Alexis Dodge for their compassionate time spent with Jeannette during her illness.
