DALTON, MARGARET AGNES, 92, died July 16 at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Barre, the daughter of George and Myrl (Scott) Jackson. She attended Barre schools and Spaulding High School. On July 3, 1937, she married William E. Dalton in Montpelier. Most of their married life was spent in the Barre-Montpelier area. He died April 9, 1963. She had worked at the former Rock of Ages Capacitor Plant and retired from the Vermont Center for Independent Living in Montpelier at the age of 84. She enjoyed music, crocheting, bingo and dancing. Her memberships included the First Baptist Church of Barre, Brown-Johnson VFW Post 792 Auxiliary of Montpelier, the Montpelier Elks Emblem Club, Montpelier American Legion Post 3 Auxiliary, Barre Women of the Moose and the Red Hats.

Survivors include a son, William Dalton, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and six daughters: Margaret Tatro, of Massachusetts, Sylvia Comolli and Pamela Stiffler, both of Barre, Betty Fitzgerald and Gloria “Coco” Conley, both of Montpelier, and Linda Pelkey, of Las Vegas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; four sisters: Gloria Seguin, Mae Ynsuela, Harriet Tenney and Shirley Beaudoin; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Larry and Don “Michael” Dalton; a daughter, June Maurice; two great-great-granddaughters; a brother; and four sisters.
