Dale Everett Orton, 58, died Nov. 15, 2018. He was born April 13, 1960, in Morrisville, the son of the late Clayton and Merlene (Ring) Orton. He attended Essex High School. On July 13, 1978, he married Andrea Marion Hetzel in Germany. Dale entered the United States Army in Albany, NY, on July 19, 1977. He served his country in Germany and following in Junction City, KS. He was honorably discharged on May 27, 1983. Dale and his wife moved to Hardwick, where he was employed as a logger for Dean Stratton. He later worked for 18 years as a sand blaster for Cochran’s Granite Co. in Barre. He was well-noted for his “Cochran J. Rose” carvings. Dale retired due to deteriorating health. He was an avid hunter. Dale will be remembered for his sense of humor, his “eagle eye” grins and his love for new trucks. Survivors include three children Daniel Orton (Heidi), of Williamstown, Jennifer Thompson (Landon), of Walden, and Brian Orton, of Barre; four sisters Cathy Orton-Fraser (Leon), of Killeen, TX, Lori Stratton (Dean), of Hardwick, Patty Meade (Eric), of Duxbury, and Charlene Orton, of Williston; six grandchildren; one aunt, Paula Ring; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
