MORSE, JANICE CHANDLER, 79, of Calais, passed away at Central Vermont Medical Center on February 19, with her sons and her husband of 61 years at her bedside. She fought a long and courageous battle with Sjogren’s syndrome. Born in Montpelier on Dec. 10, 1933, she was the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Sicely) Chandler. She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1951. She was an accomplished seamstress and freelance bookkeeper. She was loved by her family and many dear friends for her good nature, generosity and fond company. She enjoyed traveling with her nieces. Many of her days were shared with lifetime friend Eva Morse. In addition to her husband, Stanley Morse, she is survived by two sons, Brent Morse, of Barre, and Darryl Morse, of Calais; three grandchildren; as well as three generations of nieces and nephews. Her siblings, Gordon Chandler, Eunice Carpenter and Mildred Chandler, predeceased her.
