LACROIX, NORMAND JOHN PAUL, 79, of Williamstown, died September 22, at Heaton Woods in Montpelier. His family had been at his bedside. Born Nov. 19, 1933, in St. Sebastien, P.Q., he was the son of Elzear and Lydia (Parent) LaCroix. On Jan. 2, 1960, he married Bibiane Therese Gagnon in St. Sebastien, P.Q. Most of their married life had been spent in Barre City, and later in Williamstown. She died May 4, 2007. Normand had worked as a stonecutter and finisher in the monument industry for many years, at Valz Granite Company, Anderson Friberg Company, Rouleau Granite Company and Beck and Beck Granite Company, where he retired. He especially enjoyed woodworking, woodcarving and spending time with his grandchildren. Normand had been a member of the G.C.I.A., the Barre Canadian Club, and Bishop Brady Council #399 of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his two sons: Luke LaCroix and wife, Mary, of Williamstown and Bruno LaCroix and wife, Lori, of Barre Town; and four grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters: Solange Morin and Clemence LaCroix; and his brother, Raymond LaCroix; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all in Canada. Besides his wife, Bibiane, he was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Liette Gagnon.
