EBARE, NAOMI A., 88, of South Royalton, died July 12 at Gifford Medical Center. She was born January 21, 1925, in Highgate, the daughter of Gordon and Jessie (Freeman) Elwood. She was raised in Highgate and Burlington, and was married to John L. Ebare in Fairfax in 1944. She had worked for Split Ball Bearing until retiring in 1984, and moved to South Royalton in 1995. Naomi was a member of First Congregational Church of Royalton, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #2571 of White River Junction, and enjoyed shopping, senior dinners, being with friends, playing bingo and crafting her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Loyce Blood of Greensboro, Naomi Wallace and her husband, Kenneth, of Bradford, Cecilia Thiels of Claremont, N.H., Madeline Brock of Hardwick, Evelyn Tourville of Plainfield and Loretta Ebare and husband, Mike, of West Lebanon; son, John L. Ebare II of Claremont; 18 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; very special friends, Zita Champney, Gerry Carrier and Pastor Millie Reynolds, who spent many hours with family at the hospital. She was predeceased by husband, John L. Ebare; daughters, Virginia Fitzgerald and Marjorie Ebare; brothers, Morris and Edwin Freeman; and sister, Jackie Duprey. A private family service will be held, and a public memorial service at the Royalton Academy building will be announced at a later date.
