Shirley K. Streeter, 76, died peacefully at her home overlooking the valley and surrounded by people that loved her on Nov. 13, 2017. She was on born June 5, 1941, the daughter of Maurice F. and Doris (Downing) Kennedy. She attended Chelsea School, graduated in 1959 from Chelsea High School and began a career as a well-respected secretary for the Vermont Department of Agriculture and then for the Vermont Department of Education. She worked for Walter “Peanut” Kennedy, for Steve Watson as a waitress, then for the Chelsea School cafeteria and finally, for the UVM Extension Services, retiring in 1991. Survivors include her husband, Philip Clark Streeter; her four children Cheryl Lubrano, Terry Lemieux, Debra Upham and her husband, John, and Leonard Lemieux Jr. and his wife, Cindy; her two stepchildren Philip C. Streeter Jr. and Heidi Streeter; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her four siblings, Clarence Kennedy, Nancy Royce, Kenneth Kennedy and June Leggio; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
