FONTAINE, CHARLOTTE L. BLODGETT, 86, formerly of Orange, died February 12 at Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on August 28, 1926, in Roxbury, she was the daughter of William and Evelyn (Bell) Foss. She attended school in Northfield. Charlotte was first married to Henry Blodgett and they made their home in Orange. He died in 1976. Later, she married Fernand C. Fontaine and they continued to live in Orange. Her main focus was her family and home. In earlier years, she was employed by Rock of Ages Capacitor Plant in Barre for a short period. She attended St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. Charlotte’s many interests included cooking, flower and vegetable gardening, and sewing. She loved nature and animals, listening to music, and watching old movies. She also enjoyed camping, playing cards, and visiting with friends and family. She was always up to date with world and local news and liked to have engaging conversations about them. Survivors include her husband, Fernand C. Fontaine of Berlin; her beloved daughters, Gayle Munson, and Christine Groleau, her husband, Mark and their daughter, all of Orange; her sister, Kathryn Carey of Newborn, Ga.; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her first husband, a brother, William Foss predeceased her.
