Many thanks to the 65 citizens of Marshfield who responded to the Town Meeting Questionnaire. Marshfield supported the legalization of marijuana, supported labeling of food and the creation of a state bank. Marshfield comments and results are as follows.
Wind
“We can’t have wind turbines on every ridgeline in the state and fragmenting our forested landscape. Creating the road network and the clearing for the turbines allows invasive species to spread and creates barriers to wildlife.
Animal Cruelty
“Way stiffer penalties are needed for animal cruelty cases. People need to know animal cruelty does not pay and will not be tolerated in Vermont.”
Cell Phones
“Yes, but educate on the danger. Needed in emergencies. No texting!”
Health Insurance
“While I support health care reform, I am disappointed with the high cost of the current plans being offered through Vermont Health Connect. The plans do not offer as much as the old plans did.”
“My staff members are struggling with high deductibles/copays. While we need universal health care, it should not come at the cost of poor coverage.”
State Aid to Education
“Change Act 60. Get state administrators out of here.”
