Friends of Aldrich Public Library Offer Thanks
Editor:
As President of The Friends of the Aldrich Public Library in Barre, I would like to express my thanks to all who helped make our big Book Sale on July 26 and 27 such a success.
As usual we sold books on the lawn of the library during Barre’s Heritage/Homecoming Days. We appreciate the cooperation from so many, including SW Rentals who donated the use of a big canopy, Jeff Bergeron who always has the tables from the Aud delivered right on time (he never forgets and anticipates my call every year!), and Carl from CVSWMD who provided the pallet boxes for the recycled books at the end of the sale on Saturday.
In addition I am very grateful to all who came on Thursday evening to move boxes and boxes of books from the basement out to the lawn, a really BIG job! Several young people from “Youth Rising” were available throughout. The Friends and their families put in many hours working at the sale and cleaning up afterwards, another thankless job! It was a very successful venture for us, earning money for us to give right back to the library to be used for books, AV equipment, the Summer Children’s Program, the Senior Days throughout the year, the Authors at the Aldrich summer programs and much more.
My thanks to the people who supported us at this event, and also help us with other projects throughout the year. My special thanks to all the Friends who encourage and assist in our annual programs.
Please support the Aldrich Library!
