With the snow finally melting, Bear Ridge Speedway is prepping the track and sprucing up the facility for the competitors and fans who are getting revved up for the first green of the 2014 season on Saturday, May 3rd, after the annual Bear Ridge Car show at the Bradford Jiffy Mart. Be sure to check out the cars and stars at the 13th annual Upper Valley Car Show, being held this year at the JC Penney Plaza in front of the old Shaws in West Lebanon, N.H. With drivers itching to hit the dirt, this show is sure to pack a punch for the fans, as those competitors participating in the show will be able to enjoy an exclusive practice.
Opening night for the 99Rock Weekly Racing Series could set the tone for the season for a few lucky competitors as double points will be on the line for all five divisions, making the action doubly exciting.
Will Chris Donnelly come out of the box looking strong for his second consecutive championship in the Bond Auto DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds? Who is preparing to take charge of the Wells River Sportsman Coupes championship, with the retirement of Terry Williams from the division this year?
The Laquerre’s Sports Limited Late Model division is poised to be the fastest growing in 2014, which means more competition for Jason Giguere, last year’s champ. Will his luck continue into 2014? Practice will begin at the speedway at 2pm, and the season’s first green flag will wave at “6:00-ish” on Saturday night. General admission is $10 for adults (age 18-61), $8 for teens (12-17) and seniors (62+), and $2 for children. Season passes are also available; Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
