Wow! You have never had a drink like Charlotte Root in Montpelier makes for customers each day.
It is a real power drink combining nutritious organic blends of vegetables, seasonings and fruit into a balance meal.
“All drinks are made from scratch,” says Root, who graduated from U-32 in 2002 and is pursuing her masters in Nutrition and Holistic Healing at the Institute for Integral Studies in California. “All the recipes are my own and tested in my own kitchen.”
Customers seem to agree and the response since opening in May has been tremendous. You can’t miss the bright yellow umbrella that shades Be Juicy!
“It’s a powerful way to get vitamins and minerals into a delicious concoction and into people’s diets,” believes Root, who sets up her colorful stand near City Hall on sunny days Monday – Saturday.
One customer, Paul Grupp, who likes to bike when weather and a busy work schedule permits, said he can feel the added energy he gets in his cycling workouts and workday from Be Juicy.
This writer noted that his first drink, which included sweet potato, beets, lime, pear, celery, peas, etc. was as satisfying and filling as a much larger dinner meal – a drink not to be downed quickly but savored and with each sip your taste buds almost explode!
Every day, there are new drinks to try. Last Friday, Root’s menu included: You’re my Sunshine, Red Dawn, Runners Aide, and Sweet Beet and Sweet Root.
Root’s partner, a beautiful pit mix named Miela, is a real show-stopper. Often stretched out in front of the stand to invite passers-by over for a free pet on her head, she knows everything comes to the patient person. “She’s my best sales rep!” Root said.
Root is also patient but make no mistake, she is passionate about her food. “I know what I make is good for people and a lot of fun for them, too,” she said.
