GIUDICI, ALBA ATEA, 106, a longtime Barre City resident, died November 14 at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin, where she had been a patient since July of 2011. Her sister Lena had been at her bedside. Born in Northfield on October 15, 1907, she was the daughter of Vincenzo and Maria (Sartorelli) Giudici and had attended Northfield schools. In earlier years she had worked as a waitress at the former Pavilion Hotel in Montpelier and the Hotel Barre and will be remembered as an assistant in the Barre dental offices of Dr. Louis Romanos and Dr. Dante Aimi. She enjoyed reading and knitting and had been affiliated with Hedding United Methodist Church of Barre. Survivors include her sister, Lena Fitzgerald, of Barre Town; her nephew, William R. Fitzgerald Jr., of Santa Clara, Calif., and nieces Colleen Connell of Palo Alto, Calif.; Lu-Ann Callahan of Sierra Madre, Calif., and Joan Hannason of Parker, Col.; and a grandniece and three grandnephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Ida Cooper.
