Bear Ridge Speedway’s 47th Consecutive Season Kicks Off Saturday, May 3rd

With the snow finally melting, Bear Ridge Speedway is prepping the track and sprucing up the facility for the competitors and fans who are getting revved up for the first green of the 2014 season on Saturday, May 3rd, after the annual Bear Ridge Car show at the Bradford Jiffy Mart. Be sure to check out the cars and stars at the 13th annual Upper Valley Car Show, being held this year at the JC Penney Plaza in front of the old Shaws in West Lebanon, N.H. With drivers itching to hit the dirt, this show is sure to pack a punch for the fans, as those competitors participating in the show will be able to enjoy an exclusive practice.

Opening night for the 99Rock Weekly Racing Series could set the tone for the season for a few lucky competitors as double points will be on the line for all five divisions, making the action doubly exciting.

Will Chris Donnelly come out of the box looking strong for his second consecutive championship in the Bond Auto DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds? Who is preparing to take charge of the Wells River Sportsman Coupes championship, with the retirement of Terry Williams from the division this year?

The Laquerre’s Sports Limited Late Model division is poised to be the fastest growing in 2014, which means more competition for Jason Giguere, last year’s champ. Will his luck continue into 2014? Or will Brandon Gray, or newcomers Robbie Williams or Ryan Christian take the crown away? This division is surely set to be the one to watch in 2014.

Scott Holcomb looks to reclaim his USAC Dirt Midget title from Joe Krawiec, last year’s champion, but they are sure to have some stiff competition with many new names entered in this class, and hot shoe Adam Pierson driving the full season for the Manafort stable.

Find out the answers to these questions and more as the 2014 season officially starts with the annual Bear Ridge Speedway Car Show at the Bradford Jiffy Mart on Saturday, May 3rd, beginning at 10am. Practice will begin at the speedway at 2pm, and the season’s first green flag will wave at “6:00-ish” on Saturday night. General admission is $10 for adults (age 18-61), $8 for teens (12-17) and seniors (62+), and $2 for children. Season passes are also available; Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

Bear Ridge Speedway is located on Kidder Road in Bradford, VT, just off Exit 16 on Interstate 91. For more information, call (802) 222-4052 or visit www.bearridgespeedway.com.
