TARDIE, JULIETTE T., 82

TARDIE, JULIETTE T., 82, of South Barre, died November 7  at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Born in Montpelier on July 17, 1926, she was the daughter of Adolphe and Leontine (Boucher) Giroux. She attended schools in Barre. After her schooling, she was employed at the Barre Sanitarium. On May 3, 1947, she married Armond Tardie in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. They made their home in South Barre for many years.  Mrs. Tardie enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, boating, snowmobiling, camping and motorcycling. She was known for her spirit of hospitality. She became a born-again Christian, and held prayer meetings at her home for many years. She was a member of the Light House Christian Church in Montpelier, where her daughter, the Rev. Susan Salameh, serves as pastor. Survivors include her husband of 61 years of South Barre; five children, Normand Tardie of Burlington, Cecile Mathieu of St. Augustine, Fla., Leon Tardie of Barre, the Rev. Susan Salameh of Barre and Daniel Tardie of Keene, N.H.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Roland Giroux of Whitehall, N.Y., Clement Giroux of Barre Town and John Giroux of Essex; and one sister, Pauline LaPerle of Barre. She was predeceased by one brother, Denis Giroux.
