Visit Fenway in East Montpelier

Red Sox, Legos, model-building and playgrounds. Any of these interests should lead you to Morse Farm Sugarworks, where for the next week, you can see a Lego scale model of Fenway Park, while entering a raffle that supports East Montpelier’s playground renovation. Prizes include an official Red Sox ball, a Mountaineers season pass, lots of Red Sox souvenirs, and a $25 NECI gift card.
The Red Sox sent the model to Vermont – along with an official signed baseball from Sean Casey - to support East Montpelier’s fundraising for their playground renovation. They got word of this project from Bill Kaplan, an East Montpelier Elementary School parent who’s working with the Sox organization on the redevelopment of the Fenway Park neighborhood.
Redeveloping the playground seemed like a good idea too – especially the 40-year-old slides and swings that are the only equipment available to the older students at recess. The playground committee has found some fun structures that will engage the kids and strengthen their bodies, but needs more money to purchase them. The Red Sox and the community have now joined together to help this project, and you can, too.
Tickets are just $2 each or 3 for $5. The raffle will be held on Monday, November 24th at EMES.
Can’t make it to Morse Farm? You can also enter the raffle by mail. Ethan McCollister, an EMES student, is coordinating the ticket sales. Winners will be called on the day of the raffle, November 24th. You’ll have your gear in time for holiday giving!
Of course, while you’re at Morse Farm, you can find holiday gifts and supplies galore. Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks is on the County Road in East Montpelier. It is currently open 8am to 5pm, seven days a week.
