RANSOM, DARWIN W. JR., 82, of Orange, died January 13. He was born July 7, 1930, in Pittsfield, Mass., the son of Darwin W. Sr. and Caroline (Hill) Ransom. He attended schools in Springfield and graduated from Springfield High School in 1948. On Aug. 25, 1951, he married Joan Jamison of Brunswick, Maine. They owned and operated a sewing machine and vacuum cleaner business for 55 years. He was a pastor for nine years in Corinth and was involved in a nursing home ministry during that time. Survivors include his wife; five children, Mark, Jay, Darlene, Caroline and Sheryl; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
