MOUNTFORD, DONALD W. II, 61
MOUNTFORD, DONALD W. II, 61, of Barre, died January 5 at Central Vermont Medical Center. He was born in Providence, R.I., the son of Donald and Marjorie (O'Donnell) Mountford. He was a 1969 graduate of Mount St. Charles High School in Woonsocket, R.I. He earned his bachelor's degree in physical education and social science from Norwich University in Northfield, class of 1973. After completing the ROTC program at Norwich, he enlisted in the United States Army. On Aug. 11, 1973, he married Marianne Lafreniere in East Barre. He worked his entire career as a salesman in Vermont. He was an avid New England sports enthusiast and was proud he got to watch all the region's teams win championships in his lifetime. Donald had played hockey at the collegiate level for the Norwich University Cadet hockey team. Survivors include his wife, Marianne, of Barre; four children, Donald III and Joseph, both of Washington, Andrew, of Howell, N.J., and Kate Levato, of Middletown, N.Y.; his mother, Marjorie Mountford, of Greenville, R.I.; four siblings, Sheila Turner, Donna Comfort, Jill Masso and Chet Mountford, all of Rhode Island; and six grandchildren. In addition to his father, he is predeceased by three siblings, Mike and Kevin Mountford, and Sandra Langford.
