JOHNSON, WAYNE K.


JOHNSON, WAYNE K., of Fayston, died October 30, after a courageous battle with ALS. Wayne was born Dec. 18, 1947, in Goffstown, N.H. He graduated from Hollis High School in 1966. He attended Hesser College for two years before entering the Army, where he served his country in Vietnam, December of 1968 to December 1969. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1970 receiving a Commendation Medal with V-Device, Oak Leaf Cluster Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Wayne spent most of his career as a truck driver and lived in Fayston since 1986. When not driving truck, Wayne could be found down by the river fishing, in the woods hunting, riding his motorcycle, playing a game of pool or sitting in his recliner next to his love, Lynda, watching any New England sports team.  Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Lynda; four stepdaughters, Ava Whitcomb and husband Alan, of Marshfield, Kara Barker and husband Charlie, of Plymouth, N.H., Heather Twombly and husband Kevin, of South Riding, Va., Tonya Guyette and husband Scott, of Waterbury Center; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one son, Joseph Small, of Nashua, N.H.; a brother, Gary; three sisters, Kathy, Gail and Carol; and a stepbrother, Chip. He was predeceased by his mother, Esther Johnson Blanchard, father, Lewis Johnson, and brother David Johnson.
