MANNING, WILLIAM J. "MICKEY," 75
MANNING, WILLIAM J. "MICKEY," 75, of Northfield, died November 6 at Fletcher Allen Health Care. He was born in Montpelier on June 23, 1937, the son of Percy W. and Mildred (Devino) Manning. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1956. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1960 and served until 1962. He worked as a store clerk for the Country Store in Montpelier and Somers Hardware. He was most recently employed at the Aubuchon Hardware Store in Northfield. On Jan. 17, 1976, he married Yvonne Skoda in Montpelier. He was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the Canadian Club. He enjoyed bowling, NASCAR and watching sports. Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Michael Hotte, of Suffolk, Va., and Stuart Hotte, of Pfafftown, N.C.; eight stepgrandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Arthur Manning, of Montpelier, Francis Manning, of Middlesex, Raymond Manning, of Northfield, Thomas Manning, of Montpelier, Mary Kelley, of Northfield, Anne Rogers, of Marshfield, Elaine Isham, of Moretown, and Theresa Brooks, of Meriden, Conn. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Wendy Barcomb.
