POIRIER, CELINE G. BRASSARD, 79
POIRIER, CELINE G. BRASSARD, 79, of Barre City, passed away in Billerica, Mass. on September 17, after a second battle with colon cancer at the home of her granddaughter. Born in Plessisville, Quebec, she was one of four children of the late Danot Brassard of Plessisville and Marie-Anne (LeBlanc) of Manchester, N.H. She married Rosaire C. Poirier of St. Pierre Baptiste, Quebec on July 27, 1953, and lovingly cared for her husband who in the later part of his life suffered from illness for many years. Rosaire died March 15, 2011. Celine and Rosaire moved to Barre in 1956. Celine worked at Sprague Electric for many years along with working with her husband at the Canadian Club. She was also an employee of the former Rouleau Granite Company in her later years. Celine touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. She was sister of the late Marcel Brassard who died in 2001. Sister of Lucille, wife of Gaspar Vigneault of Plessisville, Quebec and Laurette, wife of the late Jean Brassard Viger of Dosquet, Quebec. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Survivors include her two sons and their spouses, Yves and his wife, Donna (Rouleau) Poirier of Abington, Mass. and Michel "Miche" and his wife, Marlene Poirier of Snowsville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
