Join the 13th Annual Fall Foliage Bike Ride this Weekend

The Cross Vermont Trail Association invites you to join the  13th annual Fall Foliage Bicycle Ride on Saturday, September 29th at Kettle Pond in Groton State Forest. This is an excellent opportunity to get out for a bike ride with your family and friends in one of Vermont’s most beautiful state parks.

Although the ride is nearly 17 miles long, it is appropriate for families, as the trail is a slight downhill grade most of the way.  Shuttle options are also available to bring riders back to their vehicles at Kettle Pond. The ride passes through the heart of Groton State Forest and the towns of Groton, Ryegate and Wells River, with views of lakes, mountains, and working farms, all of it framed by peak fall foliage.

The ride begins at Kettle Pond parking lot on Rte 232 in Groton State Park, and ends at Blue Mountain School off Rte 302 in Wells River. Meet at 9:30am for sign-in & bike safety check, the ride starts at 10am. For a shorter ride, join the group at Ricker Pond at 10:20 or Upper Valley Grill at 10:30.

At the end of the ride (in the Blue Mountain Union School parking lot) the Thomas family will be having a cookout for all riders and volunteers.

Come ride, and tell your friends! If you can’t ride or don’t ride but would like to be a volunteer, your help would be appreciated.
