Homeschooled in the Real World

I am writing in response to Stewart Skrill's letter in the Sept. 24th issue of The World, of which I completely agree with.
I am a 17-year-old Obama supporter, however nobody influenced my decision to support Obama. I believe that at least part of the reason why I made my own decision, is because I am home schooled, I have been my entire life.
A lot of people think that kids that are home schooled are automatically shielded from what's going on in the real world. I wasn't, but some are. However there are kids that go to school that don't know what's going on in the world either.
I think that the choices that I have made (for instance not smoking drinking etc) and will continue to make (with an open mind and my own voice) are because I have been raised in the real world as opposed to the artificial environment of a school.
