OUIMET, REAL, 69,

OUIMET, REAL, 69, of East Montpelier, died September 19 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Brian Phillips in East Montpelier. Born June 9, 1939, in Kingscroft, PQ, Canada, he was the son of Aldei and Florence (Charron) Ouimet. He grew up in Canada and attended schools there, graduating from Sallaisen College (Noe' Ponton) in Sherbrooke. He moved to the U.S. in the late 1950s. On June 2, 1962, he married Angele Lussier, making their home in Randolph. They later divorced. In his early years, he was employed by Asplundh Tree Service prior to becoming a farmer and later a self-employed carpenter. For many years he was an active member of the Canadian Club in Barre, the Knights of Columbus and the Montpelier Elks Club. Real had a flare for life, fishing, hunting, playing cards, golfing and socializing were some of his favorite past times, but he will also be remembered for the roses he grew and gave away to friends and relatives. Survivors include his mother, Florence (Charron) Ouimet of Coaticook, PQ, Canada; and three daughters, Lucy Ouimet-Sayers and husband Willie of East Calais, Joanne Ducas and husband Marcel of Berlin, and Tracy Phillips and husband Brian of East Montpelier; a brother, Roger Ouimet of Barnston, PQ Canada; a sister Aldea Vaillancourt of Coaticook, PQ, Canada; and five grandchildren. Also surviving are his close friends Doris Phillips and Laurie and Mike Stone. His father predeceased him.
