FARNHAM, MAXINE E., 92, of Washington, died at her home on September 20 after a long illness, with her loving family with her. Born on Feb. 26, 1916, in Pittsburg, N.H., daughter of Earl C. and Florence E. (Aldrich) Farnsworth. They moved to lower Graniteville about 1924. She attended Marion High School and later graduated from Welford Academy of Cosmetology. In 1932, she married Oliver Pelletier. They made their home in Graniteville. She was a welder at Bethlehem Hingham Shipyard in Boston, Mass., during the war. She also worked at Sprague Electric in Barre. On July 8, 1950, she married Gordon R. Farnham. The lived in Illinois, Louisiana, Charleston, S.C., and Pittsburgh, Pa., until his retirement from the Air Force. They returned to Washington where they spent the rest of their lives. She raised Pekingese and bichon frise dogs from 1958 until 2000. She loved her family, gardening, camping, upholstery, sewing, yard sales, crossword puzzles, dancing, travel, the ocean and especially South Carolina. She was a loving wife and mother. She has left the family with a lot of wonderful memories. She is survived by two daughters, Joan Deberville and Melanie Tucker, both of Washington; a long-time friend, Alfred Spencer of Washington; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Joy Morrie, and a grandson, Allen Deberville.
