PARKER, ERNEST J., 75, died September 17 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Junction. He was born March 28, 1933, in West Fairlee, the son of Raymond M. and Ruby (Cribbon) Parker. He graduated from Thetford Academy in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Barbara Collins on June 14, 1946. They lived in Montpelier for seven years before moving to Vershire. He worked as a supervisor for the National Life Insurance Company. He retired in 1987. He served the town of Vershire for 16 years as a selectman. He was also justice of the peace and a zoning administrator and one of the founding members of the Vershire Historical Society. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, and worked on genealogy projects. He is survived by his wife; a brother, Howard Parker of Vershire; two sisters, Viola Clark of Vershire, Phyllis Ricker of West Fairlee and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Melvin Parker.
