GABAREE, HAROLD RAYMOND, 81

GABAREE, HAROLD RAYMOND, 81, of Lowell, Mass., died September 9 at Lowell General Hospital. He was married to Mrs. Lillian A. (Lake) Gabaree, with whom he would have celebrated a 37th wedding anniversary on Dec. 10, 2008. Born in Montpelier on July 23, 1927, he was the son of the late Harold A. and Winnifred (Patenaude) Gabaree. He attended Vermont public schools and graduated from high school in 1944. He served with the U.S. Merchant Marines and during WWII served with the U.S. Navy. He was employed by Massachusetts Electric in Lowell and North Andover as a lineman until his retirement in 1987. He was a communicant of St. Margaret Church of Lowell. He was a member of The American Legion Post 87 in Tyngsboro, Mass., and the Lowell Lodge of Elks. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Bruce and wife Diane Gabaree of Belmont, N.H., Keith Gabaree and companion, Linda Wagner of Lyndonville, and David Gabaree of Arizona; daughter Denny T. Gabaree and companion, David S. Morrow of Lowell, Mass.; brother Howard Gabaree of Springfield, Mass.; sister Jackie Demrest and husband, Kendall of Woonsocket, R.I.; sister-in-law Jackie Peladeau of Lowell; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and close family friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Theresa L. (Sullivan) Gabaree of Lowell, who died March 5, 1965.
