Incident at Tunbridge Worlds Fair

(by Stewart Skrill Randolph Center - September 24, 2008)

Editor:

I had a grand time manning the Republican Party booth at the Tunbridge Fair this year. Considerable interest was shown and it wasn't long before all of the John McCain signs and bumper stickers were gone. I learned a lot manning the booth from an incident which occurred, disturbing me enough to write this letter.

About six teenagers approached the booth to ask for directions to the Obama booth and wanting McCain signs so as to desecrate them with Obama stickers. Eugene Bifano, the candidate for Secretary of State engaged them in some very interesting thought provoking conversation. These young teenage students were somewhat interested in what Mr. Bifano had to say, however there was one thing that stood out about them. They were all predisposed to one mindset, one of emotion not substance and unaware of any facts. They had been brainwashed into lockstep thinking. I was surprised and would have thought their prestigious semi-private school, located in the Upper Valley, would have been teaching governance on a more balanced level rather than a totalitarian one. The most outspoken of these teens even made a general accusation that we were non supportive of Obama because we were all black racists.

Soon after they left another group of teenagers arrived, from the same school. One requested a McCain sign for his father. I gave it to him and as he ran off several others grabbed signs. I asked if they were planning to mark them up with Obama stickers. Their replied in unison was, "yes."
Abusing children, teens and younger is criminal. When they are brainwashed in school to not think for themselves, they are being abused.
