Tell Your Legislator: Health Care is a Human Right
Editor:
Exactly a week ago was the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. After 62 years, isn't it time for health care to be considered a human right? I think it is.
It is time for people in our communities to be cared for based on the care they need, not by the whim of corporations deciding to pay or not pay for our care - and that is if we are lucky enough to have health insurance. We can have a system that is equitable for all of us, and the time for that is now.
If you agree, call your legislator and tell them so. If you agree, talk to your neighbors. Each of us has a reason to get involved - ourselves, our families, our communities.
And, on January 5th, many of us will be at the Statehouse at 12:30 to open the legislative session with our demand that health care be a human right. Please join us!
